Job summary

UNC School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, seeks a board-certified/board-eligible Open Rank Psychiatrist to provide clinical care for adults with serious mental illness at the UNC STEP Clinic in Chapel Hill, NC. The position will involve in-person and virtual care within a multidisciplinary academic medical center.

The role includes diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, and psychopharmacologic management, with opportunities to teach and engage in research as part of UNC’s commitment

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Board certification or eligibility in General Psychiatry.
• Eligibility for North Carolina medical licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality psychiatric care for adults with serious mental illness.
• Diagnostic evaluations and treatment planning.
• Psychopharmacologic management and ongoing clinical care.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient-centered treatment.
• Coordinate with primary care and specialty providers for physical health needs.
• Contribute to teaching, supervision, and scholarly activities.
