The Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill and the North Carolina Children's Hospital is seeking an individual to join a productive, premier academic practice. This is a full-time, fixed-term (clinician educator) faculty position. Rank will be determined at a level commensurate with the applicant's experience and accomplishments.

This position will be based in Chapel Hill and will lead sleep medicine in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, including ambulatory pediatric sleep medicine clinics on the main campus and in Raleigh. They will be a key member of the multidisciplinary, nationally recognized Pediatric Airway Center.

In addition, the individual will serve as the medical director for sleep laboratories at our UNC regional Children's campus in Wilmington and with our partner organization, Novant Health's Charlotte. This network of children's specialty care sites provides an opportunity for broad-based leadership and hybrid work flexibility since laboratory oversight and polysomnogram interpretations can be performed remotely. If desired, the individual will have opportunities to attend pediatric pulmonology clinics, inpatient service, and perform bronchoscopic procedures.

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine offers an exceptionally collaborative environment for the care of children with the full spectrum of pulmonary diseases, including cystic fibrosis, asthma, primary ciliary dyskinesia, interstitial lung diseases, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, lung and airway malformations, and other complex airway and respiratory diseases. The program has outstanding expertise in flexible bronchoscopy and facilities for other diagnostic testing. The clinical programs provide a multidisciplinary care approach and stress continuity of care through partnership with primary care providers.

The Division provides clinical care at the North Carolina Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina Children's Specialty Clinic (Raleigh), Novant Health-University of North Carolina Children's Hospital (Wilmington), and other sites in the state. In addition, strong basic and translational research programs provide opportunities to participate and lead clinical trials for innovative therapies through collaborative work within the institution and as part of national research networks.

Finally, the chosen applicant will be involved in the educational mission, teaching trainees, including pediatric pulmonology fellows, residents, medical students, other graduate students, and participate in other scholarly activities.

Salary will be highly competitive based on private and academic benchmarks. The benefits package is outstanding with family health insurance coverage without cost and 150% retirement matching.

The position requires a professional medical degree, completion of a sleep medicine fellowship or other certification pathway. Applicants must be American Board of Sleep Medicine eligible or certified, and have a license to practice medicine in North Carolina.

Fellowship training in pediatric pulmonology is preferred.
