Job summary

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia is seeking a Board-Eligible or Certified, Fellowship-trained Orthopaedic surgeon in Hip and Knee Joint Replacement for a tenure-eligible Open Rank Professor position to begin in 2027.

Qualified applicants must have an MD, fellowship in adult reconstruction, and evidence of academic productivity. Training across primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, trauma, infection, and rapid recovery protocols is preferred.

Qualifications

• MD degree required and board-eligible or board-certified.
• Fellowship training in adult reconstruction is expected.
• Demonstrated academic productivity (research or scholarly activity).

Responsibilities

• Provide hip and knee arthroplasty care including primary and revision procedures.
• Participate in academic activities, research, and teaching within UVA's Orthopaedic Surgery Department.
• Collaborate with a 30-faculty group and share arthroplasty call with other adult reconstruction faculty.
