We are interested in candidates at any stage of their career from the Sr. Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor levels. This is an open-track position with faculty able to select between the Academic/Tenure-Eligible and Clinical Practice pathways. Exceptional international candidates who need J1 waivers are excellent candidates for either pathway. The Emergency Department (ED) Division offers multiple faculty scheduling models designed to accommodate a variety of professional and lifestyle preferences. Current opportunities include ED Daytime, Fully Remote Night, and In-House Night positions, each with distinct clinical responsibilities and scheduling structures while providing comprehensive emergency radiology coverage.

ED Daytime

The daytime schedule follows a workweek defined as seven consecutive days (Monday through Sunday). Shifts run from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with faculty typically working one week out of every two, totaling 182 shifts over a 52-week period.

Fully Remote Nights

The fully remote night position consists of a three-person team providing overnight coverage for University Hospital from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. On average, each physician works one out of every three weeks, resulting in approximately 17 weeks (about 4 months) of night shifts and 35 weeks (about 8 months) off each year.

In-House Nights

The in-house night position is staffed by a seven-person team providing overnight coverage at both University Hospital (tertiary care and Level I Trauma Center, 10:00 PM–7:00 AM) and Denver Health Medical Center (Level I Trauma Center, 9:00 PM–7:00 AM). Each member of the team will work an average of two weeks out of seven weeks, which is a total of 15 weeks in a year.

Swing Shifts

Various models are available to support swing shift positions for evenings to midnight.

Key Responsibilities
