Job Summary

University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Radiology and Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) are seeking a fellowship trained, Pediatric Interventional Radiologist (IR) to join our growing practice! The division of Pediatric Radiology consists of 33 board certified pediatric radiologists and 4 Advanced Practice Providers (APP). Currently, a subset of 4 pediatric interventionalists and 4 APPS are on track to perform over 4000 procedures per year. Pediatric IRs will focus their work at one central campus in Aurora, CO, approximately 15 minutes outside of Denver. If desired, cross coverage with adult IR may be possible.

The Department of Radiology offers two career pathways:

Clinical Practice Track
  • Exclusive focus on clinical work with no research expectations.
Academic/Tenure Eligible Track
  • Focus on clinical, teaching, and research missions.

The department has an excellent track record of obtaining J1 waivers, and candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic pediatric interventional procedures daily at CHCO. Neuro-interventional procedures and stroke are covered by a separate team that can provide opportunities for collaboration.
  • Providing pediatric diagnostic radiology coverage is helpful but not required.
  • Call responsibilities are currently every fourth night and weekend but will become every fifth with a new hire.
  • Fellow, resident, and medical student education in both an outpatient and inpatient setting are critical components of the position.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

There is a large collaborative Oncology Service with weekly tumor boards and a growing Pediatric Interventional Oncology Service.
