Position Summary

The Department of Radiology at UNM Health Sciences Center seeks an outstanding individual to join our Breast Imaging section. Discover what makes this academic medical center a great place to work in the Southwest!

The successful candidate will provide breast imaging coverage at UNM Hospital Outpatient Surgery and Imaging Services, Sandoval Regional Medical Center, and Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Responsibilities include interpreting screening and diagnostic mammograms (with or without tomosynthesis), breast ultrasound, automated whole breast ultrasound, breast MRI, performing imaging-guided biopsies (US, MRI, tomosynthesis, stereotactic), localizations, and participating in multidisciplinary conferences.

Experienced candidates may be considered for Breast Imaging Section Chief. Interest and experience in another radiology specialty (e.g., ultrasound, musculoskeletal, cardiothoracic, emergency) are also welcome. Scholarly experience and interest are preferred. Opportunities include tumor boards, multidisciplinary conferences, and translational research supported by dedicated staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MD or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain state licensure in New Mexico
  • ABR board certified or eligible in Diagnostic Radiology by start date
  • Training/experience in Breast Imaging with FDA experience requirements
