Job Description

The Department of OB/GYN at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified academic generalist to join our growing Division of Specialists in General OB/GYN. This is an exciting opportunity for an academic generalist with a commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and scholarly activity. About the USF Department of OB/GYN: The department has ACGME-approved fellowships in Gynecologic Oncology, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Its Research Division in Reproductive Science and Gynecologic Oncology has well-established and funded lines of basic/translational research.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide general Obstetrics and Gynecology care, including ambulatory care, deliveries, surgery, and complete maternal care. Co-manage patient care with MFM faculty.
  2. Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.

Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  1. Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
  2. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  3. For Associate or Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization.
  4. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Must have completed Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology with an interest in teaching and patient care. Must have or be eligible for a Florida Medical License.
  5. Positive factors for consideration include but are not limited to excellent record of clinical care with several years of teaching/supervising experience and demonstrated leadership skills. We will also consider new OBGYN graduates with academic career interests. Great communication skills and ability to work in a team-based environment required.
