The University of Virginia invites applications for a Plastic and Hand Surgery position within the UVA Plastic Surgery, Maxillofacial and Oral Health departments in Charlottesville. The role combines 50% hand and upper extremity surgery with 50% lower extremity salvage and general reconstructive plastic surgery.

Board certification or eligibility in both Plastic and Hand Surgery is required, fellowship in Hand Surgery is mandatory, and scholarly activity is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Medical degree and completion of an accredited Plastic Surgery residency.
• Completion or currently enrolled in an ACGME-accredited Hand Surgery fellowship.
• Board certification or eligibility in both Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery.
• Excellent clinical and surgical skills in hand and upper extremity surgery and reconstructive plastic surgery.
• Strong commitment to patient care, safety, and outcomes.

Responsabilités

• Perform a wide range of hand and upper extremity procedures including trauma, microvascular work, and nerve repair.
• Deliver expert care in lower extremity salvage and general reconstructive surgery.
• Cover level one hand trauma call and participate in Plastic Surgery call pool.
• Collaborate with Orthopedic Surgeons and Advanced Practice Providers for complex cases.
• Mentor residents and fellows and engage in scholarly activities and research.
