Job summary

The University of Georgia invites applications for an open rank tenure-track faculty position in the Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (CCRC) in glycoscience. We seek an outstanding scientist whose work complements existing strengths and leverages our NMR, mass spectrometry, computational, and structural biology resources.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field and at least two years of postdoctoral experience with a strong publication record and a plan for external funding.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry, Plant Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a relevant discipline.
• At least two years of postdoctoral or relevant research experience.
• Outstanding publication record and a well-developed research plan.
• Assistant level: potential to develop vigorous programs; Associate or Full rank: sustained extramural funding and international recognition.

Responsibilities

• Establish a robust, externally funded research program.
• Mentor graduate students, undergraduate students and postdoctoral research associates.
• Fulfill teaching obligations.
• Participate in furthering the mission of the University.
