Position Summary:
AnOpen Rank Faculty Nursing is a faculty member who has completed a graduate degree in the area that the faculty member will be teaching.Open Rank Faculty Nursing have demonstrated competence in facilitating learning, scholarship (dissemination), and service.
When circumstances warrant, faculty who hold academic appointments with other universities may be hired temporarily at the rank of Open Rank Faculty Nursing. Faculty hired into these ranks meet the qualifications of faculty at their rank, but they are not on a track that may lead to a rolling contract.
Starting Salary: $90,000-100,000 annualized (based on experience).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Scholarship- Scholarship/ research reflecting the generation, integration, dissemination and application of knowledge, as well as creative and original contributions to one’s field commensurate with academic rank.
Service- All faculty engage in service to the University, Community and Profession commensurate with academic rank. Examples in each category include:

Duties Required of All Faculty- Certain duties are additionally required of all faculty and are not given formal workload credit but will be included in yearly evaluations. These include but are not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A graduate degree in nursing with a preference for a doctorate in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred for pre-licensure nursing faculty. It is required for post-licensure nursing faculty.
Experience: Adequate years of experience in the areas involved in assignments; Nursing - minimum of two years of full-time registered nursing clinical experience and a minimum of two years of full-time teaching or academic experience. Education - documented potential in the areas of facilitating learning, scholarship, and service, as applicable to assignments; and if appropriate, a record of meritorious performance of the duties and obligations of an instructor.
Certifications, Licenses, etc.: Unencumbered RN licensure in Arizona or multi-state compact license. For faculty teaching in post-licensure online programs, unencumbered RN licensure in California and state of residence. Additional licenses may be required. Certified Nurse Educator or certification in specialty area preferred.
Other: Criminal background check and meet all requirements of clinical partners.
