Summary of Job Responsibilities:

The physician in the clinical track will provide direct inpatient and outpatient care to Hepatology patients at UHealth Locations and Jackson Memorial Hospital, including 8 half days. Responsibilities include outpatient clinical and endoscopic services, rounding and teaching on inpatients at UHealth Towers and Jackson Memorial Hospital. Preference will be given to physicians with experience as a Transplant Hepatologist. The physician will participate in weekly, holiday, and weekend call, proportionate to other Hepatology providers.

Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Maintain outpatient clinical practice at UHealth locations, UHealth Towers, and/or Satellite locations.
  • Reading of Fibroscans.
  • Rotate on night and weekend call, proportionate to other faculty.
  • Participate in inpatient and JMH teaching services, rotating proportionately with other faculty.
Qualifications:
  • MD Degree with ACGME US internal medicine internship and residency.
  • Completed 3-year ACGME US gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship.
  • Provide case logs for core and non-core endoscopic procedures (2 years), including motility studies.
  • Valid American Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology (or eligibility).
  • Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligibility to apply (must have license prior to credentialing).
  • Valid DEA licensure.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Completion of US ACGME 3-year gastroenterology fellowship.
  • Completion of transplant hepatology training.
  • Maintain CME to meet licensing requirements.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe, quality care.
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification required.
