Job Summary
The Division of Medical Oncology is seeking an MD to practice primarily at Highlands Ranch Medical Center, with cross coverage at Lone Tree and Cherry Creek Medical Centers. The role includes inpatient rounding 2‑4 days per week at Highlands Ranch Hospital, assisted by an APP, and daily outpatient clinical work. The candidate should be a team player with a strong work ethic, committed to delivering high‑quality, multidisciplinary hematology and oncology care in a patient‑friendly, community setting.
Key Responsibilities
- See patients daily in clinic and cover the infusion center on a rotating basis.
- Collaborate with Oncology APPs (NPs or PAs) in clinic.
- Provide 1:6 call coverage for community practice patients and Highlands Ranch Hospital.
- Work with the Service Line Director to expand the cancer practice.
- Attend multi‑departmental clinics, CME conferences, oncology service line meetings, and clinical trial meetings.
- Assist with investigator‑initiated trials, cooperative group/industry trials.
- Lead and participate in clinical quality improvement projects, including management of critical pathways and case management across the continuum of care.
- Serve as a team member providing comprehensive care and interacting with professional colleagues in a multidisciplinary fashion.
- Attend monthly Clinical Affairs conference calls, weekly tumor board meetings, present at the Fellows Conference once per year, assist with Fellows interviews, and perform other duties assigned by the Medical Director or Division Head.
- Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential records using the UCH EPIC system.
Qualifications
- Licensed MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Board certified in Oncology or Hematology.
- 4–8+ years of experience in a community medical oncology setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 or more years of experience in a community medical oncology and/or hematology setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all organizational levels.
