Job summary

Texas State University’s Department of Accounting invites applications for an open-rank faculty of practice position for Fall 2027. The candidate will teach in-person undergraduate and graduate courses, engage in applied scholarship, and contribute to the department, the profession, and the university.

Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree with CPA licensure or a terminal degree in accounting or related field from AACSB-accredited institution; six to ten years of professional/academic

Qualifications

• Master's degree in accounting, law, taxation or related field from an AACSB accredited institution with active CPA licensure; or a terminal degree (PhD, DBA, or JD) with a major in accounting or related field from an AACSB accredited school.
• Six years of experience in a professional practice or management role for Assistant Professor of Practice.
• Eight years of experience in a professional practice or management role plus significant university teaching experience for Associate Professor of Practice.
• Ten years of experience in a professional practice or management role plus significant university teaching experience for Professor of Practice.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate accounting courses in person.
• Engage in applied scholarship in the accounting field.
• Provide service to students, the department, the profession, and the university.
