Job summary

P&C Recruiting | H.R. is seeking a Mining Engineer for the Open Pit Planning Team to plan, design, and optimize daily and weekly open pit mining activities that directly impact safety, production, and cost performance.

You will develop short-range mine plans aligned with production targets, collaborate with operations, geology and drill & blast, generate EOM reports, monitor plan compliance, and provide technical support to ensure safe, efficient mining and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering (or related discipline)
  • 3+ years of open pit mine planning experience
  • Experience with mine planning software (Deswik preferred, Vulcan or similar)
  • Strong understanding of drill & blast operations, material movement, and production environments
  • Ability to balance technical planning with operational realities
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail in fast-paced mining operations

  • Create bench plans, dig plans, and dump designs to support safe and efficient mining operations.
  • Track and report highwall, dump, and production performance metrics.
  • Provide direction and technical support to operations teams to ensure execution of mine plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through field engagement, operational data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
