Job summary

Ember Grey seeks a Mine Development Planner to support the early-stage development of a large-scale open-pit copper project. The role bridges long-term mine planning with on-site execution to ensure safe, efficient, and well-sequenced development of new mining infrastructure.

The candidate will lead 0–2 year planning horizons, oversee site prep, design safe pit development, and coordinate earthworks with contractors while ensuring adherence to MSHA/OSHA and environmental permits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in large-scale open-pit mining operations.
  • Proficiency with mine planning software (Deswik or Hexagon) and Civil 3D.
  • Solid understanding of mining regulations, permitting, and safety compliance (MSHA/OSHA).
  • Greenfield or early mine development experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt plans to field conditions.
