Job summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Operations Frontline Supervisor at the Cortez operations to lead an on-site crew in delivering safe, environmentally sound and efficient gold production by executing the mine plan.

The role emphasizes visible leadership in the field, strong safety performance, and collaboration with Production, Maintenance and Support teams to ensure adequate manpower and daily plan execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years mining or industrial leadership experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in equipment operation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Safety and environmental leadership demonstrated in previous roles.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure daily work requirements are planned and the crew is organized to perform the required work.
• Conduct daily line out meetings and monthly safety meetings.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance and Support to meet the production plan.
• Lead safety activities including Field Level Risk Assessments and follow up on actions.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment with strong housekeeping standards.
• Demonstrate visible leadership in the field (60% time in the field).
