UNC Health, based in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a certified perfusionist to provide circulatory support during open-heart surgery and long-term cardiac/pulmonary support. The role works under the Chief Perfusionist in Rex CVOR, with a 40-hour work week and day schedule.

Qualified candidates will have graduation from an accredited perfusion program, BLS, and NC perfusion licensure. Preference is given to experienced applicants. This position is onsite at UNC Health Rex CVOR.

Qualifications

• Must be certified perfusionist or eligible to be certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• BLS required.
• North Carolina Perfusion License or Provisional License required.

Responsabilités

• Assists surgeons and anesthesiologists in the operating room during open-heart surgery to maintain all patient temperatures and pressures as directed by physicians.
• Cleans equipment and services devices with any malfunctions observed.
• Contributes to continuous quality improvement focusing on patient satisfaction, outcomes, and cost.
• Provides patient and support staff training related to ancillary equipment.
• Reviews patient history, physical and heart catheterization data to determine required circuit and maintains perfusion records.
• Sets-up, processes, and disposes of cell saver supplies for autotransfusion as outlined in the perfusion manual.
