As an Open/Close Shift Manager, you will supervise, coordinate, and delegate opening and closing responsibilities and procedures. Your team will rely on you to ensure compliance with timely opens and closes, cleanliness, food safety, and line prep and setup. You will lead in creating a productive, clean, safety-conscious, and friendly work environment. Mentoring and developing crew members and Team Trainers will be part of your role. Additionally, you will collaborate with other restaurant management to identify opportunities to optimize efficiency and maximize profitability.
Responsibilities Include
- Training, monitoring, and reinforcing food safety procedures with crew members.
- Acting as Cash Manager when needed, including setting up cash registers, reconciling cash drawers, and verifying safe cash at open, close, and shift change.
- Serving as Operations Leader, overseeing shifts and executing the Daily Operations Plan as necessary.
- Performing walk-throughs to ensure the restaurant is ready for opening, closing, and rush periods.
- Using flow charts and checklists to ensure timely opens, closes, and post-rush activities, while maximizing labor efficiency.
- Training, developing, and communicating with crew members and Team Trainers through various methods to maximize retention.
- Ensuring quality, production, and service standards are met, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and professional environment.
- Executing shift-specific procedures according to the Daily Operations Plan and maintaining proper crew coverage.
- Following up on Voice of the Customer reports to resolve issues.
- Monitoring and managing labor, including employee breaks and shift labor adjustments.
- Controlling food costs by tracking waste and conducting daily inventory counts.
- Executing cleaning schedules, coaching crew members, and ensuring cleanliness standards.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, must be 18+, pass background and drug tests, with restaurant experience preferred. Skills required include multitasking, teamwork, professionalism, customer focus, and physical ability to perform job duties.
Must obtain ServSafe certification if not already certified.
