Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Scholarly Communications Librarian at the Welch Medical Library. This role partners with faculty, staff, and students across medicine, public health, nursing, and the Johns Hopkins Health System to advance open access and publishing options.

The librarian will lead university-wide initiatives, analyze policies, and develop new services and curricula to meet evolving user needs while integrating scholarly communications with collections development.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science or related field.
• Five years of related experience.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise related to scholarly publishing.
• Knowledge of open access policies and copyright in academic publishing.

Responsibilities

• Lend expertise to scholarly publishing and support outreach, instructional, and consultative services.
• Represent the Welch Medical Library in public forums, including meetings and collaborations.
• Establish strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop and implement university-wide open access policies and publishing models to disseminate university scholarship.
• Collaborate with Johns Hopkins Libraries to shape scholarly communications services and open access initiatives.
