Job summary

Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking an ontology engineer to join the Threat Analytic Systems group. You will collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and subject matter experts to build ontology content and support national security mission needs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a relevant field, experience with OWL/RDF/SPARQL, and the ability to work on dynamic projects. A TS/SCI+poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to Ontology (philosophy, CS, cognitive science, ...).
• Proficiency with OWL, RDF/RDFS, and RDF.
• Experience crafting SPARQL queries.
• Experience building domain ontologies.
• Familiarity with ontology editors (TopBraid, Protégé, ROBOT).
• Ability to work with loosely defined requirements and dynamic projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligibility for TS/SCI+poly clearance (U.S. citizenship).
