Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions, LLC is seeking a Windows Engineer to support a contract with the Department of Energy (DOE) and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) OCIO in Washington, DC. The role is full-time and onsite, focusing on designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise Windows server systems in a highly secure federal environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Windows Server engineering experience.
• Strong MECM/SCCM experience.
• Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise identity management.
• PowerShell scripting and process automation.
• Experience in secure federal government environments preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and workstations.
• Apply OS patches and security fixes to maintain compliance.
• Monitor server health and optimize performance.
• Administer AD accounts, permissions, and GPOs.
• Implement and enforce security policies and vulnerability remediation.
• Manage backup and disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Develop PowerShell scripts and automation workflows.
• Create technical documentation and system diagrams.
• Support MECM deployments, imaging, and endpoint management.
• Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
