Job summary

American Contracting & Environmental Services Incorporated (ACE) is seeking a Project Engineer to support daily execution of a complex water and wastewater facility construction project with DC Water at Blue Plains. You will coordinate activities, review plans and submittals, track costs and materials, and help ensure safe, on-schedule delivery in line with project requirements.

The role involves working onsite with field teams, interfacing with project managers, and supporting preconstruction

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 1–3 years of construction experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with estimating efforts including collecting bids and supporting change order pricing.
• Support preconstruction activities and purchasing efforts.
• Review submittals and shop drawings for compliance with project requirements.
• Perform quality control checks on materials and documentation.
• Coordinate with superintendents and field crews to support daily operations.
• Track deliveries, materials, and equipment on site.
• Assist with project scheduling and updating progress.
• Prepare and track RFIs and project documentation.
• Review invoices and assist with budget and cost tracking.
• Support subcontractor coordination and performance tracking.
• Maintain project records and assist with reporting.
• Help prepare work plans and support major field activities.
