Job summary

The Arc Southern Chesapeake seeks a Janitorial/Vocational Support Professional to provide on-site instruction and support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities in the Tri-County area. This full-time role collaborates with a team to teach janitorial skills, facilitate community integration, and enable job placement.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited high school or GED.
• 2 years of competitive employment.
• 2 years Janitorial experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated knowledge about the formal and informal supports available in his or her community to assist people receiving supports to identify and access these supports.

Responsibilities

• Assists individuals to meet employment goals by teaching skills and providing supports.
• Supports development of friendships and relationships in work and recreation.
• Provides on-site skill instruction and job training while promoting natural supports.
• Maintains frequent contact with employers, families, or others important in the lives of people served.
• Ensures compliance with MOSHA, DDA, health and safety guidelines.
