Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking an on-site Utilization Management Nurse (RN) in Georgia. This role directly links clinical floors and administrative compliance to optimize hospital resources and reimbursement.

Responsibilities include in-person consultations with providers, real-time decision support at the bedside, and adherence to payer criteria. Requires RN licensure, BLS, and strong collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or nursing diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license (single-state or compact).
• BLS certification required and maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform admission and concurrent medical record reviews to determine medical necessity.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to determine appropriate level of care.
• Maintain accurate chart notes and timely documentation of reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve patient throughput and reduce avoidable days.
