Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a UAS Pilot / Research Analyst Associate to support the FAA Airport Research Division at the Atlantic City Airport.

You will prepare and execute flights using diverse UAS platforms and contribute to evaluations of counter-UAS technologies and advanced UAS capabilities. You will develop flight test plans, training materials, and test procedures, collaborating with broad stakeholders to integrate UAS into the NAS safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Must be Part 107 Certified.
• Minimum of 20 hours or more of documented hours (not simulator) safely operating UAS platforms.
• High School Diploma required.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and UAS platforms up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provides expertise in the operation of unmanned aircraft.
• Develops flight test plans and procedures.
• Develops briefing and training materials to support flight operations.
• Plans and performs a wide range of in-process and final testing of analog, digital, microwave, optical, and mechanical systems under ambient and environmental conditions.
• Applies technical knowledge to facilitate UAS integration into the NAS safely and efficiently.
• Collaborates with manufacturers, vendors, regulators, academia, and government agencies.
