Job summary

Cordoba Corporation, a leading engineering and design firm in California, seeks an Associate Engineer to provide entry-level engineering and CAD drafting support in the transportation sector from our Sacramento office.

You will work under senior staff to assist with drawings, project coordination, and documentation while gaining practical experience in transportation infrastructure delivery. Strong CAD skills and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 1 year of relevant engineering/drafting/construction support experience (or 5 years if no degree).
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation.
• Working knowledge of engineering drawings, track charts, standard drawings, and construction documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, revise, and maintain drawings and construction documents using CAD software.
• Assist engineers with maintenance, drafting, and construction support for transportation projects.
• Review drawings, plans, specifications for completeness and accuracy under senior staff guidance.
• Incorporate redlines and revisions; maintain drawing files per project standards.
• Support field staff with sketches, record drawings, and as-built documentation.
• Assist with calculations, quantity takeoffs, reports, and project exhibits.
• Coordinate with maintenance, designers, surveyors, constructors, and team members.
• Maintain organized electronic files and assist with document management.
• Participate in design reviews, as-builts, meetings and coordination.
• Perform other engineering/technical duties in support of operations.
