Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer Tier 3 to support a federal program with the DOE and NNSA in Washington, DC. The role involves advanced network engineering, administration, and troubleshooting for secure enterprise environments, ensuring performance, reliability, and security of critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities include configuring LAN/WAN, troubleshooting complex issues, supporting data center networks, and implementing security controls.

Qualifications

• Active DOE Q Clearance or Top Secret Clearance
• 7+ years of network engineering experience in government environments
• Hands-on with Cisco routing/switching (IOS/NX-OS) and Palo Alto NGFWs
• Experience with VPNs, F5 Load Balancers (GTM/Big-IP DNS)
• Knowledge of Layer 2/3 networking, BGP, VLANs, DNS, IPsec, TLS/SSL, SSH
• Experience with Windows and Linux/Unix, security, incident response
• Able to obtain/maintain government clearances

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and optimize LAN/WAN infrastructure (Cisco, Palo Alto, VPNs, F5)
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network performance issues
• Support data center networking and virtualization environments
• Implement security controls and disaster recovery initiatives
• Provide technical recommendations and collaborate with cross-functional teams
