Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Network Engineer Tier 3 to support federal government enterprise networks in Washington, DC. This on-site role requires advanced skills in LAN/WAN design, security, and troubleshooting for mission-critical environments.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of enterprise network experience, hands-on Cisco/Palo Alto expertise, and an active DOE Q or Top Secret clearance. Salary up to $175,000 with full benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, engineering, or related field.
• Active DOE Q or Top Secret clearance.
• Hands-on Cisco routing/switching, Palo Alto firewalls, and encryption devices.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and optimize LAN/WAN networks (Cisco, VPN, load balancers, security gear).
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and monitor performance for improvements.
• Manage firewall administration, system hardening, and patch management.
• Support data center ops, virtualization, and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Collaborate with teams on design, upgrades, and asset management.
