Job summary

UCHealth Pikes Peak Reg Hospital in Woodland Park, CO, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. This onsite PRN role involves preparing the suite, passing instruments, and assisting with patient positioning during procedures.

You will ensure equipment readiness, manage specimens, and work in a fast-paced environment under minimal supervision. Required: High School diploma or GED, Surgical Tech program or registration, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or Military trained.
• State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date.
• 6 months Surgical Tech experience or graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech program.

Responsibilities

• Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipmentand supplies.
• Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Passesinstruments to physician during surgery. Continuallyaccounts for number andlocationof instruments and supplies during surgery.
• Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
