Job summary

Summit Steel is seeking a Superintendent I to oversee and coordinate Union Structural/Steel construction activities on-site. You will manage subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

This role requires strong leadership, construction management experience, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage all construction activities on-site, including scheduling, subcontractor coordination, material procurement, and equipment logistics.
• Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards, and implement corrective actions as needed to address deviations and issues.
• Supervise subcontractors and tradespeople, ensuring they adhere to project schedules, quality requirements, and safety protocols.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities, resolve conflicts, and provide guidance and direction to ensure efficient and productive workflow.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on-site.
• Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of construction and address any deficiencies or non-conformances in a timely manner.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including project managers, clients, architects, and engineers.
• Provide regular progress updates, reports, and documentation to project management and stakeholders, and address any concerns or issues proactively.
• Lead and supervise field personnel, including foremen, laborers, and subcontractors, to ensure they perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promote teamwork and communication, and provide mentorship and coaching to support professional growth and development.
