Job summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Williamsburg, VA. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, and support month-end and year-end close.

You will work closely with the team to ensure GAAP compliance and accuracy in financial data. Responsibilities include general ledger maintenance, cash flow and reconciliation tasks, and collaboration with departments to support financial operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Requires daily attendance in our Williamsburg office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Prepare financial statements and reports as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or issues.
• Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations.
