Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking Spanish onsite interpreters in the Dayton, OH area to facilitate accurate communication on site. The role involves consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish, and sometimes remote interpretation by phone or video.

Applicants must be 18+, fluent in English and Spanish, have at least 1 year of interpreting experience, and be willing to travel to assignments. A current English résumé and relevant credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to accurately provide consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish.
• Successful completion of language and interpreting proficiency evaluations.
• Submission of a current résumé in English during the application process.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education/experience where required by client standards.
• Basic computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to travel to onsite assignments.
• Background/screening may be required per client/site requirements.
• One or more years of professional interpreting experience.
• Medical/legal/community interpreting experience, as applicable.
• Relevant interpreter training, credentials, or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable to an assignment.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with Propio and client requirements relating to interpreter ethics, confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, security, and data-protection requirements, including HIPAA/FERPA/GLBA where applicable.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients, patients, healthcare professionals, and others.
• Maintain professional language proficiency and subject-matter knowledge for accepted assignments.
