Job summary

Propio Language Services in Dayton, OH is seeking Spanish onsite contract interpreters to facilitate accurate interpretation during on-site assignments and, when needed, remote interpretation by phone or video.

Candidates must be bilingual (English/Spanish) with at least 1 year of interpreting experience, complete applicable credential evaluations, and meet health, immunization, and background screening requirements.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Ability to provide consecutive interpretation.
• Successful completion of language and interpreting proficiency evaluations.
• Current résumé in English.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to travel to onsite assignments.
• Health and immunization requirements may apply.
• Background, security, fingerprinting, and/or drug screening may be required.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethics.
• 1+ year of professional interpreting experience.
• Experience in medical/legal/community interpreting.
• Relevant interpreter training or credentials.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and Spanish onsite.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy, security, and data-protection requirements (HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA).
• Maintain professional interactions with clients, patients, customers, visitors, healthcare professionals, and other participants.
• Maintain language proficiency, terminology, and subject-matter knowledge.
