Job summary

Assured Information Security (AIS) invites applications for a Software Engineer II in Rome, NY. The role focuses on research, design, and development of innovative software solutions in a Linux environment, under senior technical staff guidance.

A Secret clearance is required; position contingent on contract award. The candidate will contribute to an agile team, perform task decomposition with accurate effort estimation, and participate in code/design reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 2 years of relevant work experience
• Experience with C/C++ or Rust
• Experience with Python, Bash or other scripting languages
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Knowledge of OOP concepts
• Strong foundation in operating systems, data structures and programming fundamentals
• Familiarity with virtualization / containerization (Docker, KVM, VirtualBox, Xen)
• Ability to understand and describe technical software systems

Responsibilities

• Develop, debug, and test software solutions with oversight from senior staff
• Work effectively within a Linux-based development environment
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and develop software
• Contribute to an agile team with developers, testers, and investigators
