Job summary

American Contracting & Environmental Services (ACE) is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to lead and support complex water and wastewater facility construction projects in the DC–Baltimore corridor. You will work with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and field teams to manage planning, scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, and technical support on onsite projects.

The role emphasizes safety, on-schedule delivery, mentoring junior engineers and co-ops, and ensuring compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Project Engineer or Construction Engineer.
• Experience with wastewater treatment plant or utility infrastructure preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support for day-to-day construction activities on assigned projects.
• Manage daily operations for multiple construction projects while supporting schedule, budget, and quality goals.
• Review contract plans, specifications, technical submittals, and shop drawings.
• Interpret engineering drawings and assist with work package planning and execution.
• Perform quality control checks on submittals, materials, and project documentation; track project costs, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders to support project delivery.
• Assist with procurement activities and subcontractor coordination.
• Identify field issues and help develop practical construction solutions.
• Generate and submit daily reports tracking project progress and milestones.
• Attend project meetings and support communication between field and office teams.
• Supervise and mentor Project Engineers and Co‑Ops.
• Support project scheduling updates and reporting efforts.
