Job summary

Muon Space in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to design, secure, and operate the networks and cloud environments powering our fast-growing company. You will own network security across our infrastructure, including Cisco Meraki, Cloudflare edge, and cloud platforms like AWS and GCP, while protecting export-controlled data.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in network engineering or security.
• Hands-on Cisco Meraki design and operation.
• Experience with Cloudflare edge services, WAF, DNS, and ZTNA.
• Experience securing AWS and GCP networks.
• Strong firewall, segmentation, VPN, and zero-trust knowledge.
• Ability to monitor, detect, and respond to security events.
• Nice-to-have: US government programs or EAR/ITAR data handling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate secure network architectures across on-prem and cloud.
• Own and administer Cisco Meraki network infrastructure including SD-WAN.
• Manage Cloudflare services for edge security, DNS, WAF, DDoS, and Zero Trust.
• Architect and harden network security across AWS and GCP (VPC, firewalls, segmentation).
• Monitor, detect, and respond to network security events and lead investigations.
• Implement secure remote access, VPN, and zero-trust for a hybrid workforce.
• Define and enforce network segmentation and access controls for sensitive data.
• Collaborate with IT, Security, and engineering to meet compliance and business needs.
