Full-Time Onsite School Nurse (LPN or RN) – 1:1 Assignment
Location: Near Wolcott, CT
Contract Dates: ASAP – July 13, 2026
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (35 hours/week)

Soliant Education is now hiring a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time 1:1 school-based assignmentfor the 2024–2025 school year.

Position Overview:

You’ll provide direct 1:1 care for a 16-year-old female student who is medically complex and behaviorally challenged. This is an onsite, school-based position with van transportation responsibilities (to and from school with the student).

Student Details & Medical Needs:

• Age: 16

• Conditions: Cognitive delays, visual/hearing impairments, behavioral challenges

• Mobility: Uses wheelchair for long distances but ambulates at home independently

• Key Medical Needs:

• G-tube feedings multiple times daily

• Monitoring for gas pain, crying, abdominal distention, and LLQ pain (potential volvulus risk)

• Daily documentation and symptom management per doctor's instructions

• Support Provided: Student has a dedicated paraprofessional to assist with behavioral needs

  Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 medical supervision and care throughout the school day

• Administer g-tube feedings and monitor GI symptoms closely

• Assess and document signs of abdominal distress or other medical issues

• Ride with the student on school van transportation (AM/PM)

• Collaborate with school staff, paraprofessionals, and the student’s medical team

• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for the student’s educational participation

  Requirements:

• Active LPN or RN license in the state of Connecticut

• Experience with g-tube feeding and complex pediatric care

• Strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond to medical emergencies

• Previous school nursing or pediatric experience is highly preferred

• Ability to pass background and fingerprint clearance

• Must be comfortable providing transportation support
