Job summary

The Themesoft Inc is seeking an experienced BI Administrator to oversee and optimize our enterprise analytics platforms. The role focuses on Power BI, SAP BI, Tableau, and Qlik environments, ensuring high availability and scalable performance.

You will manage RBAC, security, data governance, and automation, collaborating with Data Engineering on Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure services. This contract position requires NY office work 3 days per week and strong incident response skills.

Qualifications

• Advanced BI Administrator with 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise BI and Analytics platforms including Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects (BOXI), Tableau, and Qlik.
• Strong experience in platform administration, governance, performance optimization, security management, automation, and L3 production support.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain enterprise BI platforms including Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects (BOXI), Tableau, and Qlik environments.
• Manage BI infrastructure, capacities, gateways, workspaces, semantic models, datasets, and reporting environments.
• Perform platform installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure platform availability, reliability, scalability, and operational stability.
• Administer Power BI Service tenant settings, Power BI Premium capacities, deployment pipelines, and enterprise gateways.
• Manage workspace governance, dataset certification, endorsement policies, content promotion, and environment management across Development, Test, UAT, and Production.
• Implement and manage RBAC, Row-Level Security (RLS), data privacy controls, and Microsoft Entra ID integration.
• Conduct security reviews, compliance audits, access governance, and platform risk assessments.
• Monitor platform health, resource utilization, capacity consumption, refresh performance, and user adoption metrics.
• Optimize datasets, semantic models, dashboards, reports, and queries for performance and scalability.
• Implement aggregation tables, incremental refresh, composite models, and performance tuning best practices.
• Provide L2/L3 production support for BI incidents, report failures, refresh issues, gateway problems, and platform outages.
• Perform root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous service improvement activities.
• Automate administrative activities using PowerShell, REST APIs, and scripting frameworks.
• Develop automation solutions for workspace provisioning, access management, refresh orchestration, monitoring, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams supporting Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, SAP, and cloud analytics platforms.
• Support data lineage, metadata management, governance standards, and enterprise reporting architectures.
• Lead BI platform modernization, cloud migration, and analytics transformation initiatives.
• Create operational runbooks, support documentation, governance standards, and knowledge articles.
• Mentor L1/L2 support teams and provide technical leadership across BI platform operations.
• Participate in on-call support and drive proactive improvements through automation and operational excellence.
