Job summary

HITT Contracting Inc. is seeking an Assistant Safety Manager in Culpeper, VA to support project teams with on-site safety inspections and regulatory compliance.

This role reports to a Safety Manager and will work from project sites as needed, with growth and promotion potential within the HITT safety team. The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of safety experience, a four-year degree in construction/engineering/business (or equivalent experience), OSHA 30, and strong reporting and MS Office skills.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years safety experience.
• Four-year degree in construction, engineering or business preferred.
• OSHA 30 certificate required.
• CSP/ASP/CHST or other safety designation preferred.
• Strong report writing and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conducts on-site safety inspections.
• Evaluates project compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Evaluates safety performance of subcontractors on projects.
• Delivers safety toolbox meetings and health safety training.
• Develops site-specific safety plans and coordinates with Safety Manager.
• Reviews project safety inspections with Site Operations and attendees.
• Maintains project documentation and elevates safety concerns.
• Participates in project safety and subcontractor meetings as needed.
