Job summary

Applied Materials, supporting TSMC in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Safety Engineer to lead on-site safety efforts at one of North America's most advanced semiconductor facilities. You will serve as the boots-on-the-ground safety representative, auditing activities for OSHA/compliance and coaching crews in real time.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial environments, OSHA 30 certification, and the ability to work long hours in a cleanroom.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial, construction, or manufacturing experience.
• Strong hazard recognition and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and spend extended periods in a cleanroom environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the boots-on-the-ground safety representative supporting Applied Materials engineers at TSMC.
• Audit work activities for OSHA, TSMC, and Applied Materials compliance.
• Identify hazards and implement immediate corrective actions.
• Review permits, PPE, and required controls before work begins.
• Provide real-time coaching and guidance to employees and subcontractors.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed.
• Maintain a strong field presence with at least 4 hours per day in the fab environment.
