Job summary

Martin Concrete Construction is seeking an Onsite Safety Coordinator for the Critical Projects Group in North Georgia. This field role supports active construction projects and travels as needed, reporting daily to project sites.

The ideal candidate will lead safety on site, conduct toolbox talks, enforce OSHA standards, coordinate trainings, and document inspections, incidents, and compliance records, ensuring crews work safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary onsite safety resource, supporting Superintendents and field teams.
• Promote the safety of all employees, subcontractors, and vendors while identifying and minimizing jobsite risks.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and company safety policies.
• Act as a competent person onsite by identifying hazards and stopping unsafe work when necessary.
• Conduct weekly documented safety inspections and submit reports in a timely manner.
• Perform daily hazard recognition and risk assessments.
• Lead Toolbox Talks, Stretch & Flex sessions, and daily safety meetings in an engaging and interactive manner.
• Maintain accurate and organized safety documentation, reports, and compliance records.
• Communicate effectively with Superintendents, Safety leadership, project teams, subcontractors, and general contractors.
• Coordinate and participate in safety meetings, trainings, and project discussions.
• Respond to incidents, assist with investigations, and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
• Report all injuries, incidents, equipment damage, or theft within required timeframes.
• Maintain safety supplies, materials, and overall jobsite organization.

We’re currently looking for an Onsite Safety Coordinator – Critical Projects Group (CPG) who thrives in high-performance environments, builds strong relationships with crews, and understands that the most effective safety leaders teach, coach, and lead by example.This role supports complex, fast-paced projects within our Critical Projects Group, where attention to detail, consistency, accountability, and proactive safety leadership are essential.

This is a Georgia-based, onsite field position primarily supporting active construction projects throughout North Georgia, with travel to out-of-state projects as needed. Candidates must be able to report directly to assigned project sites on a daily basis.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications

• Experience in construction safety or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 500 certification.
• First Aid & CPR training.
• Experience or training in excavation, silica, fall protection, NFPA 70E, and LOTOTO.

Work Location & Travel Requirements

• Ability and willingness to travel based on project needs.
• Flexibility with work hours depending on jobsite demands.
• Comfortable being onsite daily and actively engaged with crews.

Physical & Field Requirements

This is an active, field-based position requiring daily presence on construction jobsites. The role regularly includes:

• Walking and standing for extended periods.
• Navigating large, active jobsites and uneven terrain.
• Climbing stairs and ladders and accessing elevated work areas.
• Bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching as needed.
• Working in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
• Wearing required PPE at all times.
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. as needed.
