Job summary

The Fischer Group’s Structural Design Engineer will craft practical, constructible structural components for Fischer Homes’ residential products, assess field conditions, and develop repair drawings to keep projects on schedule. You will analyze IRC/IBC codes, collaborate with multiple teams, and support MEP design, ensuring high quality, compliant home designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in residential engineering and construction practices.
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.

Responsibilities

• Design basic structural components for constructible, value-focused home designs.
• Produce repair drawings to guide field repairs and minimize schedule delays.
• Perform site visits to evaluate existing conditions and identify issues for effective repairs.
• Collaborate with construction, design, MEP, and internal teams to resolve field challenges and ensure consistency.
• Provide drafting and design support to the MEP Supervisor across Fischer Homes products.
• Perform IRC and IBC code analysis to ensure compliant design and construction solutions.
