Qualifications

Passed the national examination by the CDR or eligible per AND requirements.
Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years.
Licensed or certified per state requirements.
Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning and residents’ rights.
Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

Provide nutritional expertise to the healthcare team and educate patients, staff, or consultants.
Follow ADA standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining and nutrition.
Participate in the development and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.
