Job summary

Cyber Defense Technologies (CDT) seeks a Red Team Operator to support a government customer onsite in Chantilly, VA. Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph is required. OSCP certification is highly recommended.

Responsibilities include performing full-scope red team testing, leveraging MITRE ATT&CK, and coordinating with client stakeholders to present findings and risk-based recommendations. A strong background in offensive security tools and scripting is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher with 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in penetration testing and/or red teaming.
• Knowledge of offensive security tools (Kali Linux, Cobalt Strike, NMAP, Wireshark, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Bloodhound, PowerShell Empire, Sqlmap).
• Experience in shell scripting or automation using Perl, Python, or Ruby.
• Experience developing/exploiting exploits, shellcode, or tooling.
• Familiarity with exfiltration and lateral movement techniques.
• OSINT collection/reconnaissance techniques for target selection.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication to translate technical info to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Perform full scope of Red Team testing including network, web app, threat analysis, wireless, social engineering, and EDR evasion.
• Configure and safely utilize adversary emulation tools to test internal networks, external assets, physical controls, and cloud environments using MITRE ATT&CK.
• Use OS, networking, firewalls, databases, firmware, middleware, applications, and scripting to perform adversarial engagements.
• Develop scripts, tools, or methodologies to enhance Red Team processes.
• Develop comprehensive reports and presentations for technical and executive audiences.
• Communicate findings and strategy to client stakeholders including senior leadership and legal counsel.
• Provide risk-appropriate recommendations to remediate discovered vulnerabilities.
