Job summary

Moderna is seeking a hands-on Scientist for the CMC Quantitative Sciences team in Norwood, MA. The role partners with scientists, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and digital teams to apply quantitative methods and translate results into practical decisions.

You will lead analyses, develop reusable tools, and mentor colleagues while staying current with GMP and regulatory expectations. This 100% onsite position emphasizes collaboration with lab and production partners.

Qualifications

• PhD (0-2 yrs), MS (5-8 yrs), or BS (8-10 yrs) in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related STEM.
• Demonstrated depth in at least one quantitative area: statistics, ML, data science, mechanistic modeling, data engineering, or digital analytics solutions.
• Experience applying quantitative methods to moderately complex problems; proficiency with R, Python, SQL and statistical software.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and execute moderately complex quantitative analyses, models, or data solutions.
• Translate scientific and business questions into analytical objectives and data requirements.
• Apply methods including statistics, ML, mechanistic modeling, data science, and data engineering.
• Lead defined projects or workstreams with coordination of contributors and timelines.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure studies are designed for practical decision-making.
• Develop reproducible analyses, models, and documentation aligned with GxP expectations.
• Contribute quantitative content for technical reports and regulatory submissions.
