Job summary

Optimal Staffing seeks an on-site Plant Vehicle Team Engineer at the Michigan Assembly Plant to analyze and improve quality for Bronco and Ranger programs. You will address V18, V42, and V70 quality issues as part of OEM's Product Development organization, serving as the first line of defense for quality on the line.

Expect extensive collaboration with VRT, STA, and supplier teams; drive containment, launches, and continuous improvement using DET/FDRS tools and 8D/5WHYS problem solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Experience with Six Sigma and problem-solving methods.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Drive interim and permanent corrective actions on customer quality concerns from Warranty, Executive Escalations, Social Media, and Technical Hotline.
• Own resolution of customer-critical issues and reduce warranty.
• Analyze warranty claims and coordinate with dealerships; use data to document improvements.
• Bin claims and track improvement actions via Quality AI IRIS/SIMPSN; develop SIMPSN projects to document quality improvements.
• Coordinate containment with VFG quality quarterbacks and Functional Quality Reviews (FQR).
• Use internal/external quality data to build ICA/PCA for in-plant and warranty concerns.
• Support the Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for FH sub-systems; partner with STA engineers and suppliers on supplier quality issues.
• Identify and deliver current model design projects with core/VFG leader support; initiate WERS concerns for design changes and plant trials.
