Job summary

DLH Corp in Durham, NC is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join a multidisciplinary team conducting epidemiological and clinical studies for the federal government. The role focuses on biospecimen handling, storage, and data management on-site 9-5 EST, five days a week.

Candidates with health research experience or new graduates are encouraged to apply; the position emphasizes collaboration, rigorous QC, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field.
• Minimum one year of bench research experience.
• Previous experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create barcoded labels and scan samples into the lab database.
• Prepare specimens for long‑term storage and aliquots by type.
• Perform quality control and record results; insert QC samples.
• Manage Excel files for upload into a specimen database.
• Pack shipments to external laboratories; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain equipment and supply inventories.
• Coordinate with DLH and external facilities for specimen pulls.
• Develop file structures for efficient data transfer among repositories.
• Collaborate with BSI tech specialist and project managers.
• Perform additional duties as required.
