Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in collections or accounts receivable.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect outstanding balances and prioritize based on aging and balance.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for collections activities; include notices and payment plans.
• Coordinate skip-tracing resources and tools to support collection efforts.
• Contact former residents via phone, email, and written correspondence about balances.
• Prepare account documentation for referral to attorneys or collection agencies.
• Review disputed charges and resolve account discrepancies to keep records accurate.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information in compliance with policies and laws.
• Investigate disputes with former residents in a professional, customer-focused manner.
• Review delinquent accounts and recommend write-offs per policy.
• Manage in-house payment agreements and provide regular repayment progress reports.
• Document collection activities and resident communications in the database.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Property Management, and Operations to meet collections objectives.
