Job summary

NorthStar Energy Solutions, a Quanta Services, Inc. company, is hiring an Onsite Project Manager for Data Center Electrical (Medium Voltage).

This role leads the installation, coordination and delivery of MV electrical systems for data centers, ensuring safety, schedule and budget compliance in a fast-paced environment. The position requires coordinating with contractors, utilities, and engineering teams, reviewing drawings and managing RFIs and change orders while upholding NEC and data center

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite execution of medium voltage electrical scope for data center construction projects
• Manage installation of MV systems (typically 5kV–35kV), including switchgear, transformers, feeders, and substations
• Coordinate with utility providers for service integration, energization, and outages
• Oversee subcontractors and field crews to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to schedule
• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and one-line diagrams
• Track project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and data center design standards
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and field documentation
• Conduct site walks, inspections, and QA/QC verification of installed systems
• Support commissioning activities, including pre-functional and functional testing of MV systems
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and mechanical teams to resolve coordination issues
• Enforce safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and energized work procedures
• Provide regular reporting to stakeholders on schedule, budget, and progress

Onsite Project Manager – Data Center Electrical (Medium Voltage)

The Onsite Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the installation, coordination, and delivery of medium voltage (MV) electrical systems for data center construction projects. This role ensures that all MV infrastructure—such as substations, switchgear, transformers, and distribution systems is installed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with design specifications and industry standards. The position requires close coordination with contractors, utilities, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
