Job summary

System One is seeking a Process Design Engineer for Port Arthur, TX, onsite. You will own and support process-engineering activities, develop FEL packages, and lead small-capital projects while ensuring regulatory compliance and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience with an EPC firm or petrochemical operating company.
• Experience with equipment design for pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, and control valves.
• Knowledge of pressure-relief devices, process simulation, PFDs, P&IDs, distillation, and reaction systems.
• Proficiency in process safety management, hazard analyses, and process control (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Owns and supports process-engineering activities at the site, including troubleshooting, process improvement, and safety projects.
• Develops front-end loading (FEL) packages to define project scope, including equipment checks, P&ID development, safety valve analysis, and vendor coordination.
• Participates in incident investigations, owns process-engineering actions, and translates findings into facility-improvement projects.
• Develops management-of-change (MOC) packages and evaluates operating conditions to propose troubleshooting approaches.
• Ensures processes and equipment comply with environmental and safety regulations.
• Leads small capital projects under $2 million, including plant layout, equipment procurement, and startup support.
• Defines project scope and collaborates with discipline leads and stakeholders.
